What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the website remember something between pages or visits, such as your cookie choice or that you are logged in. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in the same way, and this policy covers them too.
Apart from cookies, this website uses one similar technology for its visitors: your browser's session storage. We use it to keep a draft of your answers while you fill in one of our forms, so they are not lost if you leave the page or reload it, and to keep the list of documents you add with Add to my request. Session storage stays in the browser tab you are using, and your browser deletes it when you close that tab. Nothing in it is sent to us on its own: your answers reach us only if you choose to send the form, and your list of documents only as part of a documents request you choose to send, with the page you added each document on. Both are listed in the table below.
The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) let us set cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to work without asking. Since 5 February 2026 the law also lets websites set some cookies for visitor statistics or for the website's appearance without consent, as long as visitors are told and can object. We go further: we ask for your consent before any analytics cookie is set, and we use it only if you agree. Any other cookie would also need your consent first.
How we use cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. There are no advertising, marketing or social media tracking cookies on this website. Google may set its own cookies only if you choose to load its map (see "Embedded content").
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies make the website work. One remembers your cookie choice. The others are set only for our own staff when they log in to manage the website: they keep staff logged in and keep them out of the cached pages shown to visitors. Ordinary visitors never receive the staff cookies. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be switched off in the cookie settings. You can block them in your browser, but parts of the website may then stop working.
Analytics cookies
If you agree, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages are useful, so we can improve the website. We do not use it to identify you. When the analytics script loads, your IP address is sent to Google; Google states that it uses it only to work out your approximate location and does not log or store it.
Google Analytics does not load until you choose Accept analytics. Until then, no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google. We use Google Consent Mode (version 2) to pass your choice to Google. If you choose Reject analytics, or make no choice, Google Analytics stays off.
Embedded content (maps and video)
Our Contact page has a Google map that loads only when you click Show map. Until you click, nothing is loaded from Google and Google sets no cookies through our pages. When you click, the map loads from Google Maps inside the page. Google then receives your IP address, details of your browser and device, and the address of the page you are on, and it may set or read its own cookies on google.com: for example to remember your map preferences or, if you are signed in to a Google account, to recognise you. In our check on 15 October 2026 the map set no cookies for a visitor who was not signed in to Google. Google decides how it uses these cookies and this data: its privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy and its list of cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/cookies. The map loads only for the page you are on: on your next visit it stays off until you click Show map again.
The "Get directions" links open Google Maps in a new tab. Films on this website are hosted on our own server and set no cookies. Our fonts are also stored on our own server, so they do not contact Google Fonts. The links to the other Express companies load nothing from those sites.

Your consent and settings
On your first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Accept analytics and Reject analytics are equally easy to choose, and the website works the same either way. The banner stays until you choose, but nothing is set and nothing is sent to Google in the meantime, unless you click Show map on the Contact page.
You can change your choice at any time:
- use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, or the button below; or
- delete this website's cookies in your browser, and the banner will appear again.
If you withdraw your consent, Google Analytics stops straight away and the website deletes the Google Analytics cookies it set (_ga, _ga_<ID>, and any _gid or _gat cookie). You can also delete them yourself in your browser settings at any time.
Managing cookies in your browser
Most browsers let you see, block and delete cookies. The help pages for the main browsers:
- Google Chrome: support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647
- Safari (Mac): support.apple.com/guide/safari/manage-cookies-sfri11471
- Safari (iPhone and iPad): support.apple.com, search for "Manage cookies in Safari on iPhone"
- Microsoft Edge: support.microsoft.com, search for "Manage cookies in Microsoft Edge"
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org/kb/clear-cookies-and-site-data-firefox
Google also offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics on all websites: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
If you block all cookies, some websites may not work properly. This website still works without them, except for the staff admin area.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies on the website change, for example if we add a new tool. The latest version is always on this page. If a change needs your consent, the banner will ask you again.
